Economic Impact
By 2001 the Energy Drink market in the United States had grown to nearly 8 million in retail sales a year. The next five years the market grew by over 50% a year, reaching over $3 billion in 2005. Diet energy drinks are growing at twice that rate, as are the bigger 16oz sized energy drinks. In 2007 the energy drink market had reached over $5.4 billion, and many people predicited it would reach $10 billion before 2010. The big drink companies such as Coca Cola and Pepsi have tried to match the smaller companies innovation and creativity with little success.

Health Hazards
"What do all these ingredients supposedly do to my body?" has become a popular question among energy drink consumers in the past few years. The answer to this quesion is that energy drinks tend to not have long term damages to the body if consumed in moederate amounts, its when energy drinks are misused or taken in overly large quantities that they can cause hadaches, jitters, nausea, blood thinning, and elevated blood pressure.

Energy Drinks quick boom
Energy Drinks are advertised as beverages that "boost energy". These advertsiments usually dont tell you that the boost of energy comes from sugar and caffeine, but rather that it comes from a blend of nutrients and vitamins. Pepsi and Coca Cola both introduced energy stimulant drinks in the early 90's, but it wasnt until the debut of Red Bull in 1997 that energy drinks became popular.
