Energy Drinks marketing

Redbull, Monster, Rockstar, and other brands similar to these have a common advertisment method, sponsorships and sports. Redbull is the perfect example, they have people who race and have their decal on their cars, people who snowboard with their decal on their boards, people who motocross and rock their apparel. What all of this adds up to is the perfect marketing tool that grabs the younger generations attention.

Relaxtion Drinks

To give further proof that this is a growing industry, a new product that was launched in the 2000's has become a huge success. Anti-energy Drinks are marketed to help you "chill out" and unwind. A popular example would be Bob Marley's mellow mood. Product sales have doubled from 2008 to 2010, and expected to double again by 2014. This huge boom has created hundreds of new jobs and offered a product to be added to the growing market.

The future

Looking into the future for this industry it looks very good, its such a big industry and it only continues to grow drastically. Some people would disagree with this statement because they say its only a fad and will pass with the current generation, I would respectively disagree with this theory because I feel you can always market it in some creative way that will get people interested in the product.

The other kind of Energy Supplement Drink

If energy enhancing drinks werent enough, there has been a new supplement that has been getting increasingly popular over the past few years. Alcoholic Energy Drinks, Four Locos and Tilt are common examples, or using a energy drink as a mixer has also become increasingly popular. The bad thing with this is mixing an upper, such as caffiene, with a downer, alcohol, it causes mixed signals in your nervous system that makes your cardiac system act up. In result you could be spending some time in the hospital and paying a wonderful medical bil if you abuse this combination.

If they were banned

If Energy Drinks were banned across the world the economy would suffer greatly, we would be losing a $10+ billion dollar marktet, the world cant just take that kind of a hit and shake it off. Another thing to factor in would be the amount of jobs that would be lost, which most of the energy drinks are popular world wide. So what would the ban of Energy Drinks do besides hurt the economy?

The attempt to ban

There has been many attempts, and some success in banning Energy drinks. One may wonder how and why someone would want to ban a drink that increases energy, but many people dont know that there has been over 100 deaths due to energy enhancing drinks since 2007. But the other half of the story is that over half of those deaths were due to alcohol and energy drinks being used together, a big concoction of chemicals. France banned Redbull after a 18 year old athelete died from drinking four cans of the energy drinks after playing basketball. But is it wise to ban a $10 plus billion dollar market from the world? If you ask me, its not worth it, just learn moderation.
